What happened
Nubank needed to split its core ETL system, an eight-year-old monolith with over 6 million lines of code, into smaller sub-modules, a job expected to involve more than 1,000 engineers over about 18 months. In a case study published by the vendor, Cognition, Nubank engineers handed the repetitive refactoring to Devin. The case study says the Data, Collections and Risk units completed their migrations in weeks instead of months or years. This is a vendor-published account.
